Throughout my career as a Technologist I was involved in numerous business aspects. This is a summary of my business experience which started at Camco/SuperPawn when I was CIO/CTO, Secretary of the Board, and continued during my years with Bally Technologies and Scientific Games as VP/Managing Director and SVP/Managing Director.
Business Leader
Camco/Superpawn
I began my career at SuperPawn as the MIS Director in 1994. A few months later I was promoted to CIO/CTO and Secretary of the Board. During my 12 years at SuperPawn/ztradingindustries I was involved in numerous aspects of the business including IT, Security, Manufacturing, Marketing, Finance, HR, and others. In essence my role was one of IT and Business process improvement across all departments. Our in-house ERP touched all aspects of the business and was an integral part of our growth strategy. I also managed all aspects of IT including Telecommunications, Customer Support, and Hardware acquisition and deployment.
Bally Technologies
I joined Bally Technologies in 2006 as the VP/Managing Director of the MCC group in Nice, France, which Bally acquired in 2003. My responsibilities included the business P&L, Sales, Software Development, and IT Operations, including Customer Support and Operations. Effectively, I was CEO/CTO/CIO of the MCC group. in 2010 I took responsibility for a wider product range and region, becoming the VP/Managing Director of all Bally products in EMEA, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where the main EMEA production facility was located. In 2013 Bally acquired ShuffleMaster and I took responsibility for ShuffleMaster Austria and all ShuffleMaster products in EMEA.
Scientific Games
In 2014 Scientific Games acquired Bally Technologies and I relocated to Barcelona, Spain as the SVP/Managing Director of EMEA. From 2014 to 2020 I grew annual revenue in the region from approximately $50M to $115M. This was accomplished with an unwavering focus in the region, establishing targeted local product management and sales strategies. I also grew recurring revenue from approximately $20M in 2015 to $60M in 2019, and EBITDA from $14M in 2015 to $46M in 2019.
Interblock Gaming
In 2021 I joined Interblock as President EMEA, pending the completion of the acquisition by Oaktree Capital, after which I moved to Slovenia to rebuild the Sales and Service organizations. I introduced numerous improvements to the sales and service processes, including the introduction of Power BI analytics for tracking historical and ongoing sales results, processes for product pricing, and software for managing the numerous product settings to ensure proper and consistent configuration of product in the field.
Elegant Consulting
In 2024, I launched a business and technology consulting practice with a strong focus on business optimization, data integration, and business analytics. Our expertise lies in analyzing and optimizing a wide range of business practices, including Sales, Operations, Product Management, Team Building, Organizational Structures, and Information Services. Additionally, we assist organizations in aligning their data practices with modern architectures, enabling enhanced Business Intelligence and seamless AI integration.
